About the Author

A LAWYER WHO TRULY UNDERSTANDS

T J McHugh is no ordinary employment lawyer. He worked in all sorts of jobs—cab-driver, laborer, operating earth-moving machines, working in various government jobs, even working as a musician—and seeing firsthand the appalling way some bosses operate—before realizing his true mission in life.

He commenced his legal studies in his early thirties, graduating as a prize-winning student from one of Australia's most prestigious Law Schools (the University of Melbourne). He started his own employment law practice, becoming a prominent workplace relations lawyer (Max Legal, Workplace Lawyers – www.maxlegal.com.au). He has successfully sued hundreds of bosses over the last ten years.

In addition to his law studies, T J has studied psychology, and management and organizational behavior at post-graduate level. He therefore has an enormous level of insight into how workplaces function both in theory and in practice.

T J has helped hundreds of people with their real-life workplace problems, and wants to help thousands more with this controversial, fun, yet serious new book: How to Beat Your Boss: The Workplace Survival Guide.

Many unqualified pretenders write hollow books with “advice” on all sorts of subjects; bullying, discrimination, management and so on, but TJ is the real deal and his qualifications can easily be verified. You know you can trust the author and his mastery of the subject matter; as a registered, practising professional he has advised and represented employees with workplace problems for many years. He has shared all his important professional experiences in the one, value-packed book.

Since this is T J’s first book, he welcomes reader feedback. T J is also available to appear on Oprah’s Book Club, other commitments permitting!
